Language: I finished seven different homework exercises today. Now that I actually can learn and understand my target language, things are a lot easier. Fun even.
Marathon: Today I ran at least 12 miles. I'm not sure of the exact distance because rather than stick to the roads I ran along all the little paths. It makes a huge difference in how much I enjoy a run if I actually explore the route as opposed to just focus on trying to finish it. Even if I make a wrong turn here or there. I ran on the dirt paths along the beach, through the old cannery, through the marina, then along the beach before plowing up the hill. I must have looked like quite the fool... running along in my running clothes with my head on a swivel and a goofy grin on my face but between the beautiful ocean (and no cars in the way this time!), the sights of the cannery, the fiddle player, the smell of the food, the people watching... It was fun. A great stress buster.
Oh. The run took me 2:00:58 and that includes a 5 min head call that I wound up not needing. I take that, the fact that I still didn't need to hydrate on the run, and the fact that I didn't get a cramp this time despite running longer. I am starting to think that I've reached the limit of my speed without adjusting my form. My VO2 is great and I can run forever without getting winded but during today's run I'd periodically find my form shifting. Now I need to find out which changes are the best for me and work on developing them during the short runs.
Automotive: My car is making a scraping sound, makes a rhythmic thumping sound, and grips hard to the right. I think it started today after I hit that hidden divot in the parking lot. On base. I'm rather annoyed. Fortunately, my recent repairs are under warranty. I just need to find a ride back from the autoport.
Gaming: More of the same. I just needed to unwind a bit today...
