Training Day 76

Language: Knocked out my homework (9 sentences using new grammar) and reviewed vocab. That's all.

Marathon: So... I didn't run today. Yes, that makes me 0/2 races. Yes, that means I blew another entry fee... But if I ran today it would only have been to satisfy my pride. Something more important than that came up. I'm also chalking this up to experience: Don't plan Saturday races in far-away places. At least the marathon is local and I am the only deciding factor.

Medical: Those eye drops seem to be working. Yay.

Personal: So today I went to the beach... It was the first time I've been to a decent beach in years. It was wonderful. I threw myself into the waves and let the ocean take my cares away. Sadly, the effect doesn't last for too long. Especially when the things that are bothering me are being constantly reinforced. After the beach we chilled around the house for a bit... I had a nice evening chatting with the Hooah's parents. It's funny. Every time I go to a friend's house, I wind up winning over the parents. The Momrine said that her dad didn't like anyone but I got along great with him. The Hooah says it's a bit frightening that I've already won the seal of approval from her parents... The last person to do that is now the 'favorite child' and that was a few years ago... It makes me happy that the older generations appreciate me and I'm not even trying anything.

Tonight everyone also made me stop being helpful. They chased me out of the kitchen as they set the table and then again when they cleaned up. I had been cooking and cleaning throughout the day. It was actually nice. I just sat down and chatted with the Hooah's parents and one of her best friends. I had been doing that most of the evening but it was particularly enjoyable to sit down after a good meal and have a good conversation.
